Why Is There So Much Underground Talk About Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar?

It’s pure, it’s natural and it’s even kosher. The USDA has dropped the organic seal of approval (which isn’t as common as one might think), and it can serve as a multi-purpose tool for health and cleanliness. It’s Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar — unfiltered, unpasteurized, unheated and containing five percent acidity.

So what? Is all of this supposed to be a good thing? Yes, in fact, apple cider vinegar is still one of the best-kept health secrets in your soon-to-be entirely green world, and it’s time for a quick education.

What Makes Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar Superior

It starts with the soil, which is maintained and farmed to meet organic standards and USDA guidelines. From the soil, apple trees produce some of the highest quality organic apples you can sink your teeth into. In this case, the apples are pressed to form apple cider that naturally ferment and forming the vinegar product. A web-like substance known as “mother,” develops in the fermented apple cider, ensuring that all the “good stuff” from the apples still exists in the “juice.”

What Are the Benefits of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

You can use Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar for just about everything from cleaning out the gunk in your coffee maker to cleaning out the gunk in your body. The vinegar acts almost like a sponge, pulling the “funk” from glass, plastic and even toxins from human tissue.

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar is also high in potassium, an element that many people don’t get enough of due to an unsatisfactory diet. Potassium is another element that prevents our bodies from breaking down. Ask any elite athlete what the body needs to perform at the highest level, and potassium will be at the top of the list.

Regular ingestion of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar will also help to break down arterial plaque that is one of the leading causes to heart disease. In other words, Bragg’s can serve as a liquid roto rooter for your entire circulatory system.

Bragg’s Apple Cider For External Use

The benefits of vinegar have been understood in many parts of the world for thousands of years. One simple way you might put Bragg’s to use is for after-sun exposure. When you know you may have gotten a little more sun than desired, the vinegar will once again help pull the funk from the burn.

The pain will quickly subside after laying a few vinegar soak cloths over an area. The same is for skin allergies and general skin ailments. If you happen to get into some poison ivy during a hike, give vinegar a try. If you stay out of the ivy, yet struggle with some post-hike or exercise soreness, use the vinegar to massage into your sore areas. It acts as a sponge, remember? Almost like an acidic magnet to the lactic acid and other toxins that want to settle into your muscle tissue creating soreness.

Also, the acidic content is perfect for nightly mini-facials — helping to remove the old, tired and dead skin cells from the new and radiant facial skin waiting to shine. Try adding some Bragg’s to your skin care regiment for a few weeks and see if the benefits aren’t obvious.

Ingesting Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

Bragg’s recommends an ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) Cocktail for ingestion, with one part honey and ACV mixed with a glass of distilled water or organic juice. If the honey isn’t appealing, you can certainly just mix the vinegar with water and enjoy the health benefits. Avoid taking a straight shot of vinegar, however. The highly acidic content is great when diluted, but can often be too much for the throat, esophagus and stomach to handle if taken in concentrated form.

You might consider using Bragg’s to flavor-up your favorite foods, whether sprinkled on salad or onto your homemade potato chips. It’s great on popcorn when combined with a sea-salt mix, and if you want a tasty fruit snack, try sprinkling it on fresh cut strawberries and adding a light dusting of organic turbinado sugar — delicious and HIGHLY nutritious.

Using Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar To Clean

The high acidic content in Bragg’s makes it useful as a great household cleaner. As mentioned, you can run it through your coffee pots, use it to remove stains from mugs and teapots or spray down work surfaces such as cutting boards. Bacteria can’t live in an acidic environment anymore than we could if we were surrounded by it.

Consider this your introduction to Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar. Part two of the course is trying the product, and part three…well, enjoying the benefits, of course.

  1. I used to have bad sinus infections and a friend of mine recommend apple cider vinegar by braggs and it works miracles. I had no problems with sinuses again……Love the product!!!!

  2. was have a allergic reacation for 1 month , one night my mind went to the Apple Cider Vinager in my Frig , i got out took a shot , then bath with it for two days ,, I have not scratch since then , its been 3 days,, my skin is turning back to normal ,,, Thank you .. Yolanda.

  3. I use Bragg’s apple cider vinegar with the cranberry juice and water. I don’t know exactly how much weight I lost but I know my clothes started falling off me. I went home to visit for Thanksgiving in 2011 and my sister asked me, “where is the rest of you”? I purchased a couple of bottles for some ladies at church. I recommend this product to customers that are trying to detox and lose weight.

  4. 4-6-12
I want to know for sinus infections. Do you drink apple cider vinegar. How much in a day.
Or do you clean your sinus’s with ACV with 1-2 drops diluted in a cup water??
People with CFS , I am assuming it’s really good for killing bacteria & viruses?

  5. I wanted to start taking Bragg’s ACV to keep my body in an alkaline state (as suggested to me), but how will i achieve this if it says in this article that it’s highly acidic and can kill germs because of its acid state. I’m confused.

  6. Nicole, even though some things are acidic in our bodies they are alkaline. You can research this on-line by putting alkaline diet into your search engine. Right now I am battling an aggressive cancer and I need to keep my body PH highly alkaline. This is not easy to do right now, so I am taking boosters. And I’ve noticed when I become excessively stressed it is almost impossible to keep my levels high. Evidently stress eats up alkaline, and fast! Anyway if you search the alkaline diet you will find a LOT of good information about eating foods that can help keep your alkeline high and your body healthy.

  7. Wonderful product. Taking this ACV has done miracles for me. After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and two kinds of arthuritis, my doctor gave me a walking cane and strong pain pills and basically said “good luck”. After five days of two tablespoons three times a day, I was pain free. Amazing, I now walk one to three miles a day, lost twenty pounds and feel so good now. Thank you, Braggs family for developing such a healing product.

  8. Your body turns acidic foods or drinks like ACV to an alkaline state. That’s why it cures heartburn. You wouldn’t think to swallow something acidic on top of heart burn to cure it, but it revs up the body’s natural response and cures that heartburn by making your body work the way it should. And bad things don’t grow in a body that is in an alkaline state be it cold or flue germs, infection… etc. Alkalinity is the body’s natural defense. Sugar and processed foods ruin the body’s natural alkalinity. So with better nutrition, regular exercise and ACV your body will be at it’s optimum performance.

  9. Great article on the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. I have suffered from joint pain in my knees for a long time and even though I have been in the health industry for some time did not realize how effective this over the counter remedy worked. I saw results by third day and this worked better then any of the medicine I was taking.

    Appreciate this valuable information.
